After looking out for a showing of the Elvis Movie in York for a showing with subtitles (because my wife is deaf) I gave up and called Customer Services.
I was told by the polite man that this was not available with this film but Audio Description was, and she could wear the headset and she will hear it!.
Does it also have subtitles I asked. No she can wear the headset and it has a special sound, I think.
But my wife is deaf and I think you will find that Audio Description is for the blind.
No sir....I interrupted and said "You don't know do you"? (he didn't) and went off for a while to ask.
His next words were "Audio description is for the blind sir". Need I say more apart from, Train your staff Cineworld, and WHY don't the deaf get any assistance to go to the movies?. Everyone else does.
If you want a good movie experience just read the reviews and maybe choose an alternative.

We had Booked onto the 8pm showing of Top Gun only for it to be cancelled at 6:30pm due to a projector issue so they say, thank god the Odeon was just around the corner with seats available...
Lesson learned, will not be using Cineworld ever again !!

Tried to book several times for myself…
Tried to book several times for myself and a Deaf friend for subtitled movie. Payment box greyed out. Tried to phone using given number and it just directs you back to the website. What's the point? No customer facing option to resolve issues. So much for inclusivity.
Customer service email team are a joke
Customer service email team are a joke, every single response is a copy and paste template completely ignoring anything you have written. Never offered refunds or compensation, only ever generic apologies and fake promises to pass comments onto management.
This company takes its customers for granted despite being more expensive then it’s competition for tickets and snacks.
Staff are incredibly inconsistent in stores, you have one good experience followed by one awful one.
I’ve cancelled by unlimited card and likely won’t be coming back. It’s not worth the grief.

Cineworld Vangarde York
Booked to take my grandson to the York Vangarde cinema. On the website it was very misleading on the seats left to see Thor on the IMAX screen in 3d. According to the seating plan there was only 2 front row seats left. I had to book them as it was the only available showing I could take him. When we had our tickets scanned in the cinema the usher informed me that we were sitting at the front, I obviously knew this and informed her that they were the only 2 tickets left. She told me this wasn't correct and I could swap seats by going to the till and doing it there. This wasn't an issue at all but again the seats available on the screen at the till was incorrect too. I picked 2 decent middle row seats row J. According to the seating plan we were sat next to people and the cinema according to the plan was a good half full. Come movie time there was no one else on our row and the total number of viewers was less than 20. I'm not sure what that's all about as both online and in the cinema the seating plan is totally wrong.
The cinema at the Vangarde shopping outlet is quite new and is set amongst plenty of department stores, York City's new football stadium and several restaurants. Lovely inside and quite well air conditioned especially in this heat wave. Bit expensive inside too spent almost £30 on a couple of hot dogs, popcorn and drinks. I was also sold 2 pairs of glasses for the movie at a £1 each. But going into the foyer we were given glasses free, couldn't be bothered going back to the counter for a refund.
No other complaints really, the screen was huge and great sound system. First time I've ever seen a movie on a IMAX screen in 3d and was very impressed. I'm not a Marvel fan so the movie didn't excite me but my 10 year old grandson loved the movie.
I will certainly go back but will possible only watch the 3d movies again as going back to 2d maybe a bit of a let down.

Always book with cineworld as it’s the only cinema around me and never really any issues but was extremely impressed by Nyasha’s customer service this afternoon over the phone. Had an issue trying to get 4DX movie tickets online, was told by the site I had to go book them at the cinema in Ashford, got there and was told they couldn’t do it. Not once was I referred to their customer service line and it was a ‘sorry can’t do it so that’s it’ attitude from the staff there. I ended up calling up the customer service and Nyasha had it sorted for me straight away. Was extremely friendly, professional and efficient. I wish her the very best in her career

Hopeless and frustrating
I've tried multiple times to book tickets and it is incredibly slow and un-user-friendly. Keeps timing out and insists on provision of a phone number including country code even when in the country ! I am angry and frustrated.

This is probably the worst website I have ever used. Every time I try to book tickets, it either throws me out at the payment stage or it doesn't recognise my account and password even though I use the site relatively regularly. Unfortunately they are the only cinema chain in our area and the alternative is to drive 20 odd miles to book it at the actual cinema!

Ridiculous booking fee
Website and app work fine but really disappointed that they're now charging a booking fee on their own website - absolutely ridiculous when the price of tickets has also gone up. Seriously why are we paying extra money, to buy something from you?

Booked tickets at Cineworld Broughton, for Jurassic World: Dominion 4DX.
These are not 4D screens but 3D with motion, water, wind and scent effects. Decided to get a cineworld plus card, as the cost of 4D is double the usual ticket price. The husband now qualifies for a senior citizen discount. Who said growing old wasn`t fun? So with this Cineworld Plus card, we saved over £3.
Not only do the seats move but the floor aswell. Its an interesting experience and I laughed most of the way through it. Didn`t liked my legs being touched though, so will wear trousers next time! I can see junior school age children loving this. Don`t know about anyone younger though. There`s a lot of "jigging" about and the movements are quite robust. The mechanism must have cost a fortune. It reminded me of Disney World. I would not recommend it for anyone with skeletal/ muscular problems or generally in poor health. There is a warning not suitable for those with high blood pressure... BUT I was fine.
Its a robust experience and would suit action movies really. The husband is hoping for an Alien, predator or terminator 4DX movie next. I think this technology would also suit the movie Final Destination too..... must remember to wear my trousers next time.

Lied to over the telephone, timed out on the website. Tried to book tickets since 14.30 this afternoon it is now 17.40 ! This outfit does not deserve to remain in business !
Crap website
Using the website to book tickets is awful! It keeps timing out before their buggy system loads the payment page. Very frustrating, will definitely avoid in future.
